In another time and place, Damyen, Kiaran, and Liviulé—the inseparable trio that bring along partying and mischief—leave behind their mundane lives and join Elder Emeral, their spiritual father, to embark on a fateful journey to the Holy Land. Along the way, Liviulé befriends Allessandra, the emperor’s daughter. As they fall for each other despite a foreboding prophecy and long to be each other’s “Passionate Will,” Damyen is revisited by his troubling past while Kiaran learns about a mysterious ritual to win the hand of the maiden. It is from their own unique experiences that their faith is challenged, ultimately leading them to find their purpose—all through the power of love.

Elder Emeral's pilgrimage with his spiritual sons is more than just educational, he is also Emperor Claudias Nuncio's loyal advisor. The emperor had recently taken desperate measures to enact a controversial decree to protect his kingdom against political upheaval all over a dismal vision he had received, foretelling grave consequences for mankind. Emeral is concerned that Claudias may have been deceived but his mission to help the emperor is not without consequence. Nico Donyan, commander of the emperor’s army, sees Emeral’s voice of reason as a threat to his own agenda. But when his plot to remove Emeral is in peril, he is confronted by someone who can make his desires a reality. If only he accepts a new creed—all through the power of fear.

Five years after his storied journey to the Holy Land and struggling to cope with the Khalilite Invasion and the loss of close friends, Damyen takes a much-needed trip along the coast to ease his troubled mind, only to be attacked by the Strigoli—a demonic force that had been conjured up during the sacking of Theoria. Ill equipped to defend himself from such a fearsome foe, Damyen is saved by a miraculous force. This attack, along with Lord Nico Donyan’s ascension to the thrown, only re-affirms his faith and his commitment to stop the emperor and the ancient brotherhood from giving rise to Raul the Divine’s dominion in the mortal realm.

Un-expectantly, Damyen, Kiaran and Liviu come into possession of an ancient artifact that could bring down Nico and the brotherhood. The group then disbands, forming their own unique parties of all new characters. Liviu travels east in hopes of seeking out the leader of the Imagians, a movement of rogue separatists, seeking to overthrow the new order, while Damyen and Kiaran travel south to Sachapuya on their quest to protect the Maiden.

Furious, Emperor Nico Donyan calls upon two new villains, Tabithus and General Brannstrom Eckhardt to hunt down Damyen, Kiaran and Liviu, and to retrieve what was stolen. Using a terrorist attack to play into the fears of the people, Nico declares war upon the Imagians and also the Sachapuyans, neither of which had any involvement. At Raul’s bidding the army must march south to assist the brotherhood in toppling Elder Qaletaqa and to kidnap the Maiden—a gatekeeper between the spiritual plains. If Nico succeeds, upon the rising of the Blood Moon, Raul will bestow upon him the greatest of all sacrifices, where Nico’s vessel shall be embodied with the divine spirit of immortality.
